Social media for salons and beauty parlours in India: what to post to get more bookings

People choose a salon by looking. They scroll through photos, check how the place looks and read what others say before they call. If you run a salon, beauty parlour, barbershop or freelance makeup business, your Facebook Page and Instagram profile are your shop window. Here is how to make them bring in bookings without spending hours every day.

Make it easy to book

The best post is wasted if people cannot reach you. Put your phone or WhatsApp number, address, opening hours and a rough price range in your bio and About section. Add a clear line such as "Call or WhatsApp to book". Update the hours before festivals and wedding season, when everyone wants a slot.

Post before-and-after work

Results sell services. A haircut, colour, facial glow, mehendi design or bridal makeup shown clearly does more than any caption. Always ask the customer first before you post their face, and skip the photo if they say no. Use good light, a plain background and the same angle for both shots.

Five post types for a salon

  • Transformations: before and after, with the service name and approximate time it took.
  • Service explainers: what a keratin treatment or de-tan facial actually involves, and who it suits.
  • Offers: the service, the price, the dates and how to book. Keep it to one offer at a time.
  • Care tips: how to look after coloured hair, what to do before a facial. Useful posts get saved and shared.
  • Your team: introduce each stylist and what they do best, so customers can ask for them by name.

Use the seasons

Demand is not even through the year. Wedding months, Diwali, Karva Chauth, Eid, Christmas and the summer holidays all bring a rush. Start posting about bridal packages and festival looks two to three weeks ahead, and tell regular customers early so they can book.

How often to post

Three to four posts a week is enough for most salons. Short videos and Stories of a blow-dry, a braid or a finished look work well because the result is visual. Do not worry about posting every day; steady beats loud.

Reply and collect reviews

Most messages are people asking about price and availability. Reply the same day and keep a short list of your services with prices ready to paste. After a good visit, politely ask the customer to leave a review on Google or tag you. Never buy or write fake reviews.

Plan a week at a time

Salons are busiest exactly when you would normally post. Take photos during the week as work finishes, then sit down once, write the captions and schedule them for the coming week. You will stay consistent even on a packed Saturday.

Where Rido Poster fits

Rido Poster lets you write a post once and schedule it to your Facebook Page, Instagram and LinkedIn through their official connections. If you share offers in local community or neighbourhood Facebook groups, the extension with Auto-posting can post to up to 20 groups a day with pauses between them, and it stops for 24 hours if Facebook shows a posting limit. Plans start at ₹49 a month.

This week, collect three good photos, write three short captions with your booking number, and schedule them. Then see how many more enquiries arrive.
